Things To Worry About

In 1933, renowned author F. Scott Fitzgerald ended a letter to his 11-year-old daughter, Scottie, with a list of things to worry about, not worry about, and simply think about. It read as follows.

Things to worry about:

Worry about courage
Worry about cleanliness
Worry about efficiency
Worry about horsemanship

Things not to worry about:

Don’t worry about popular opinion
Don’t worry about dolls
Don’t worry about the past
Don’t worry about the future
Don’t worry about growing up
Don’t worry about anybody getting ahead of you
Don’t worry about triumph
Don’t worry about failure unless it comes through your own fault
Don’t worry about mosquitoes
Don’t worry about flies
Don’t worry about insects in general
Don’t worry about parents
Don’t worry about boys
Don’t worry about disappointments
Don’t worry about pleasures
Don’t worry about satisfactions

Things to think about:

What am I really aiming at?
How good am I really in comparison to my contemporaries in regard to:

(a) Scholarship
(b) Do I really understand about people and am I able to get along with them?
(c) Am I trying to make my body a useful instrument or am I neglecting it?

This is the perfect lip balm for a hint of color during the day ; it’s subtle, has an SPF of 15, and is hydrating. This can work for nighttime, too, but just swipe a coat of clear gloss on for a little shine. I’m slightly addicted to the Sunny Berry shade. About $8-$9 a pop.

While NARS Orgasm Blush is infamously known for creating the sought-after celeb glow, it’s also $27. Yikes!

Instead, Revlon’s Colorstay Mineral Finishing Powder is a decent alternative. Apply it with a light hand, and you can achieve a flawless glow for a night out. Emphasis on the light hand..unless you prefer your face to look like it was dunked in tanning lotion and shimmer.

It’s around $11.99 at drug stores.

Coca Cola made the good ol’ fashioned way— with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. They’re not so easy to find, but this one’s from a convenience store in Woodmere, N.Y.
The original formula is smoother and doesn’t leave you with the harsh metal taste like the Coke cans in store. For $2, it’s worth it, I swear!

Food for thought: According to this recent blog entry on Forbes.com, If you buy lunch everyday at work, you could be spending $72,000 throughout your career. Coffee everyday? Oh, you’ll probably spend $14,000+
